On January 30, I purchased a T-shirt with three buttons on the front. I have worn it eight times since then, and two of the three buttons have cracked into pieces and fallen off recently when I was simply fastening them. Clearly, the buttons are of poor quality, as they have deteriorated after less than thirty days of normal wear. When I wrote to J Crew's customer service department about this issue, they responded that since it has been more than thirty days since my purchase, they are unable to offer any sort of refund or exchange for faulty merchandise. This is unacceptable for such an established company as J Crew to treat its customers in such a manner: if buttons were to break into pieces after thirty-one days from purchase, J Crew considers that acceptable? To me, this is sad because J Crew used to be a respectable company.
